Share paranormal things that happened to you when you were a kid, and no longer happen.

When I was a toddler, a strange thing would happen. I had a TV in my room and would sometimes fall asleep to certain shows/movies. There were a select few DVDs that whenever I would put them in as I slept, I would wake up extremely sick. A few of these were:
>Spongebob Squarepants Christmas
>RV (2006)
>Some really old christmas (again) animation my mom gave me
There were a lot of others too that I can't remember.
I'll tell you another thing that would always happen when I was a little kid.
>night time
>look at empty room down the hallway
>i can see the light of a TV, hear chatter
>look away
>look back a second later
>its no longer there
>the room is empty, with no TV on
>sometimes would even happen in rooms without a TV anyway, like a bathroom
When I was a kid I thought nothing of this, but now as an adult looking back it's obviously paranormal.

When I was around 8 I used to astral project without knowing what it was. Met some scary entites who tried to make me go with them. I refused and stop doing it, then this happened.

I always wonder if that's what happened to Kyle Odom.

when I was 6, I woke up in a beautiful light but could not move, only turn my head. my grandmother, who had been going through chemo, was now in perfect health, hair brown, in bed with her head on the pillow watching me. I freaked out and prayed for her to leave, for me to move my body, and for me to wake up. she smiled and I shut my eyes and I woke up with no one next to me. Hours later my mom told me she had died.

then when I was in high school, I found out my aunt had a very vivid dream that her grandfather had sat on her bed and tried to chat, after he had died. she freaked out and went around telling the whole family. everyone joked how similar they were her whole life.

I never told my story. the older I get the more I seem to be compared to my grandma.

i am not religious , i never went to church , i don't believe in ghosts , but this bothers me. its the most HD thing I imagine. I tried hypnotherapy for fun, and all I think about is her face, white light , smiling

I never had anything happen to me, but I was easily creeped out. My family members always had stories about seeing ghosts and it would regularly happen with me being around. I always thought it was just a trick of the eyes or something because I never experienced anything.

I used to think aliens would come in through my bedroom window. My brothers would tease me and always whistle the X-files theme song to me because I would often wake up really scared asking to sleep in my parentsโ€™ bed to protect me from the aliens outside lol

Before puberty, my mom would pick me up from school and often stop by the grocery store on the way home. I would stay in the car and nap while she shopped. This was in TX, and on hot summer days the car would get very hot while I was napping, even with the window down. There were probably half a dozen times that I had an OBE while sleeping in the hot car. Those were the only times it ever happened. Stopped when I hit puberty.

As a young kid I was sure I could create checkpoints in my life and go back to them, I did not want to do it though because I did not want to lose what I had lived since then, but if something too serious was to happen then I knew I could do it. And I do have memories of finally doing it because my childhood best friend had died, but months later she died again a differently way, and I remember eventually being very sad and deciding to let her move far away so she doesn't die because somehow I knew it was the last time I could do it, and erase my memory of her instead. I messed up though, I did not only erased her, I erased almost everything. At that very period I indeed had a memory loss that the doctors could not explain. And that friend existed, my parents had decided to never talk about her again in order not to make me sad, and for I had no memories of her. I remembered it all twenty eight years later. And I indeed have three different memories of the same period as if I had lived it three times. Or maybe I'm just crazy. But anyway I seem to have totally lost that capacity now.

Something else, as a baby I could speak with my sister telepathically, we were not twins though, she was a little older than I, but I remember her once telling me that the more she was learning to speak with grownups, the harder it was to speak with me this way, and I would eventually lost that capacity too when learning to speak, which happened. Or maybe, again, I'm just crazy, but I think it was real and toddlers can speak with babies, like in the Rugrats.

Nah my brother was in his bedroom when it happened. The funny thing about it is that he ran so fast he almost landed at the bottom of the stairs the same time as me. Also he jumped over the bannister, obviously trying to avoid the top of the stairs, and it was quite a drop down he hurt his foot. I talked to him about it last Halloween and he still remembers that black apparition all these years later.

I used to be able to turn microwaves on by walking near them. I could turn the volume up and down on my tuner by reaching for the knob. The volume would sonetimes also increase suddenly when I got excited from across the room. I had a tv that would turn itself on in the middle of the night at full volume. I tried to rule out things like taking the batteries out of the renotes, buying equipment from different manufacturers, I even moved several times and never could figure it out. It doesnt happen anymore.

( First thing that would come to my mind is trying it on an ATM. '^^ )

It's interesting to read about weird paranormal abilities one had as a kid, but does anybody have theories about why we lose these abilities growing up and if it's possible to make them come back?

When I was a kid, can't remember what age, I believe around 9 was at home with my sister, she came down and was scared she was shaking on the couch. I asked her what's up and she said she didn't feel comfortable in her room she felt she needed to find me. I told her whenever she feels scared or a bad presence to say in the name of Jesus christ you are not welcome here. The moment I said that, we both heard screaming upstairs, I called my mom and said this was happening, i dont remember if she believed me or not, because I didn't know what the fuck was happening. The screaming lasted for 20-30 minutes. When my mom came home everything was fine and we went on with our day. I've had lots of interactions with other side when I was younger. Its been fizzling out lately.

>Early '90's
>Upstate NY
>Family cookout, all the cousins, aunts & uncles, massive gathering
>It's summertime so super nice out
>In the early evening I happen to notice what looks like a homeless bum walking at a leisurely pace out of the woods behind the house and towards the party
>I tell my mom, she looks at the man and immediately calls for my dad
>My dad takes one look at the dude and immediately says "Jesus CHRIST, get everybody in the house!"
>I clearly remember everyone running into the house as this man approaches from the woods
>Just some dirty bum with a long beard, looks to be maybe 50's but could be younger
>We watch from the porch windows as the bum lifts a picnic table full of food and drinks and flips it with one hand
>I clearly remember my uncle wanting to go out and fuck the dude up, he even went to open the door to go out but my grandpa stopped him
>Dude turns and makes eye contact with me through the window
>Smiles
>Eventually stumbles back into the woods the way he had come and disappears

Now what is so weird about all of this is that my dad was a lieutenant with the city police dept. he could have had the whole department down there with one phone call. But he was terrified. My grandpa was a WWII marine vet and my uncle was a professional boxers. These were tough dudes. And they were all afraid of this dirty old bum. Grandpa and uncle have both passed, but I asked my parents about this a couple years ago and they both claimed they don't remember it. Bullshit.

I grew up in a haunted house. When I was super young a figure came out of my wall, don't remember what it did after. I had babysitters growing up that would see things and refuse to come back. Nightmares were frequent, and a lot of them involved ghosts/entities often times saying some really fucked up shit to me. As I got older I realized how many electronic malfunctions occured and connected it to the paranormal. Then eventually I kept seeing things move on their own. My friends wouldn't believe me but after they spent the night they would say someone whispered to them or grabbed them. I always felt safer outside than I did inside the house.

The same happened to a friend of mine. He saw his late grandma in his bedroom as a kid. The thing is he never met her, since she died before his birth. When he described the old lady his parents recognized her. He's one of those "trust the science" fags, and spoke abput that only once. Therefore I believe his account to be real, he wasn't braghing about it and he actually looked uneasy while talking about it, cutting the story short and changing subject as soon as possible.
