This is something I've been thinking about a lot lately, after watching a video about the story of a man who makes a deal with the devil and his lawyer saves him.
During this, I came up with four main questions:
>Is the devil like a magic genie?
After watching that video about outsmarting a genie, this question was added: Can the devil play with the wording of your wish and transform it into something completely different?
Let's say, “I want a million dollars.” “Okay, but I'll give you a million Cambodian dollars.” “I want a million US dollars.” “Okay, but it will be a million one-dollar bills.”
And so on. Will he try to screw you over in some way or another? Will he try to trick you and have fun with you?
>How does he make the deals happen?
Let's continue with the example of the million dollars. Here, he correctly interprets what you want: 100% legal US bills, etc., etc. But where does he get these bills?
Does he just make them appear out of thin air? Are the numbers on the bills now in the central bank's database, making the bills 100% legal? Or does he take bills from different places to give them to you? Like, out of nowhere, $400 disappears from a Swiss bank vault, $200 disappears from someone's wallet, bills disappear from X place, and so on until he has a million dollars for you.
Or does it change the possibilities and situations of the universe in your favor, so that instead of giving you a million dollars in cash, it gives you an object that may be worth a million dollars, changes the fortune of the world and you win the lottery where you win a million dollars, changes an event where out of nowhere a mysterious man hands you a briefcase with a million dollars for no reason, or things like that?
