I've seen Truman Show, Dark City, and The Matrix
Dark City was interesting, it's an allegory for gnosticism, and also has elements of Law of Attraction and I think dream theory, also some esoteric freemasonic symbolism

All media but especially so the modern mainstream cinema has always been completely controlled by those in power down to their cinematographers and directors who are mid/high level occultist. The idea of soft disclosure or revelation of the method is ridiculous and lies they themselves dripfeed alt spheres into thinking they've figured out obviously pre prepared or curated lies/world views encoded into works of fiction.

What's actually going on is a combination of soft consensus forming and well poisoning of peoples conception of ideas even on a platonic level. Also predictive programming and autosugestion through repetition; Similar to thought experiments or mantras(but on a videgraphic level). Most humans are psedo ambulatory, or have a subconscious; So their non awake/aware self can't always tell the difference between real life, dreams, imagination, videos or even writen fiction. Not on a conscious level but on a cthonic or autonomic level, which affects them in various ways personally.

Directors actually make references to previous works, occult/memetic concepts, or even organizations/time periods that have to do with the concepts or source materials. It's meant as both an inside joke for those who know and as a way to signal to those who are learning.

Not necessarily good or evil, I would view most of them as simply beings with limited knowledge who are used for various unscrupulous tasks. If you know how actual intelligence or counter intelligence works then you would see why they are used as strawmen/scapegoat in the films because most of their real life counterparts are just as disposable to the system if they step out of line. Think of how Agent Smith rebelled when granted greater awareness and it was all accounted for in the system. Which lead to another cycle within the matrix leading to Neo simply ascending to a different level(Zion Dimension was part of the matrix too).

The actual disclosures are low level aspects about how this world actually functions behind the scene, but even that is somewhat weaponized to have you think of misconceptions(pic related).

Correct, most people are already "dead" in a functional sense, as they're not equipped to even comprehend actual truth nor resist foreign influence. Think of the analogy of "The Belly of the Beast". They simply either cannot awaken or are immediately curbstomped the moment they are. Only a small emergent group of people who aren't "in the know" or part of the game actually have the capacity to even comprehend half of it(Allegory of the Cave).

They aren't necessarily benevolent more accurate to say they aren't exactly evil nor conform to strictly human standards or coneption of "Good/Evil". They simply have their own goals and don't view or care much for humans on an individual level, like capricious Gods but even less personal or humanized. Those who are actually "Evil/Personal" are low and mid level actors which are sometimes actually human.

A paradoxical statement in the sense you both can and cannot. Most rules are simply part of protocol no different than legal legislature in mundane spheres, as they exist to regulate or manifest a desired outcome. They aren't real in the tangible sense but they exist for specific reasons. They aren't actual laws in a physical or cosmic sense so you can't bend them(they are a "spook").

Actual "Laws" of the universe are impossible to break, no different than scientific laws because they're ineffable as part of "base" reality.

Another movie worth mentioning is equilibrium. People remember the funny gun-fu but I think the anti medication message aged well, and even more so, I think its notable to point out how what is taboo is classic European art.

That video is totally misleading unless you actually have a practice and first-hand experience with the spiritual world. Otherwise you are going to understand pretty much the opposite of what is true.
And it can't be explained, not really. You really do need to have a spiritual practice and a relationship with those laws to understand what's going on.
