What do you think are the spiritual consequences of committing suicide? I’m days away from being officially diagnosed with a chronic, and eventually terminal, condition; and I don’t think I really enjoy life enough to be bothered with dealing with it. I’m a little afraid of afterlife consequences, but I don’t know for certain that such a thing even exists. Also, I still don’t want to make my loved ones sad, because I’ve lost some to suicide myself. I start picturing the family Christmas without my presence and everyone sad, and that makes me feel very sad. I’m not suicidal right now, or anything, I’m just curious about your thoughts.

I've been suicidal my entire life as far back as I can remember.
I'll just be chilling and think "I want to die" dozens of times a day.
That being said, life is meant to be some kind of edutainment program by God or whatever you believe runs the circus so leaving early is ill advised.

everyone dies. If you have people who care that you will die you are very lucky. If you have no say in a terminal illness then you will be dying first so they will probably be sad about you dying either way unless they die in a car crash or something. Life is 6 decades of sentience if youre lucky. Committing suicide to not prolong suffering doesn't seem very controversial or prideful or anything like that. If God is actually real he will not be surprised at your motivations. I will probably ride it until the wheels fall off but thats just because my survival instinct often floods me with false hope. One isnt better than the other. Everyone lives a life that ends. The truth is you should be much less sentimental with yourself now because your ideological motivators have been made secondary to the time limit (and they probably always were). Sorry. Its not ever going to feel good but you can understand it. Jerk off and decide.

Get a second or even third diagnosis. False positives are a thing. I believe your life is your life to do with as you please but do be aware the despair you feel will just move on down to your loved ones.

Depends on the circumstances. If you don't believe in any afterlife why would you be concerned with that? Maybe you're just in denial.

I'm just waiting for my parents to die before I kill myself. I wish they'd hurry the fuck up.

God has a plan for you OP

God's wisdom, power and love is beyond our understanding and comprehension, and so the plan can look very strange from our perspective, but not from His; His plan is always perfect.

Trust in the Lord, absolutely and completely. If you've yet to do it, repent, turn to Christ, pray to the Father, in the name of the Son, let the Holy Spirit guide in what to say, ask for what you need to face these problems OP - He will provide.

God bless OP, I'll pray for you - please don't give up. Take care.

There's a survivor bias because anyone who thinks suicide is spiritually awesome is dead.
