I agree. The 'happening' didn't unfold as expected, but things indeed happened, but she still had accuracies in other points. 10cm+ of tectonic shift within a week or two is insane. I think the average place movement per YEAR is 5-10cm depending on the area.

I didn't read too much into the whales washing ashore, honestly. So I'm not sure if they were alive or dead when they washed up. But, given the force a tsunami can cause in the water, I wouldn't be surprised if it contributed to their deaths, but things like the influx from undersea volcanic activity also releases a shit ton of heat, sulfur, etc, which could also kill them. I guess keep your eyes peeled on if more deep-sea creatures wash up dead like lantern fish, that usually indicates volcanic activity.

I'm watching intently and have become increasingly uneasy with my location. Time to move. No one else I know is taking this seriously, as if there isn't going to be another big one soon. You can select time ranges and animate them. In my observations over the years, large scale quakes generally rotate counter-clockwise around the ring of fire. There's a fairly predictable pattern of Japan > Philippines > Indonesia > Banda Sea > New Zealand > Pacific Ridge > South America > USA.
Large quakes in Japan, Russia, or other areas on that side of the Pacific ocean often triggers a chain of quakes through China, the Middle East, Greece/Italy, and then the Atlantic Ridge. Typically all in that order.

I believe Russia's 8.8 was man made in order to trigger a chain reaction. Alaska is extremely high risk at this time, and if it were to rupture in that corner cove of the subduction zone, the whole west coast is going to have some extremely dangerous events. Especially when considering the Jaun De Fuca plate has been essentially locked in place for over 300 years, and as another anon pointed out to me at some point, this could be setting up for delamination in the West Coast. Volcanoes all up and down the West Coast have seen increases in activity, especially in the past two months, when some were previously considered dormant. Stay safe, anon.
