Yeah... "Darkness" in the metaphysical sense (and in this reality) isn't some kind of magic, its just harm.

In this world, "tainting a place with darkness" would basically involve doing a bunch of edgy horrific shit there for a long time. But it wouldn't get you a magical alternate reality, it would just get you guilt, and police, and karma hunting you like a beast.
