Watched the movie for the first time and I can’t unsee the standard pattern of precocious child who would get shuffled into GATE and the moral of the story is “use your powers and get adopted by your handler”.

Just look at the pattern:

- unusually gifted and intelligent child who feels and is smarter than her parents

- normies are stupid and will never understand you

- you must use and develop your power in service of your handler, who is really just a wounded and delicate soul that owes your absolute loyalty

- Use your powers. Use your abilities in ways that would clearly get you caught in front of everyone. Prove your powers.

It’s so blatant. It was a cute story, but it really glowed in the dark for me.

This isn’t a message at all She uses her powers in secret the entire movie. Only Ms Honey connects the dots that it’s Matilda doing everything because Matilda actually showed her.

Also Ms Honey is a monster who let kids suffer for years before she found one smart enough she could exploit herself.

But she used her power on her own accord as well. She developed her power on her own realizing it’s her anger and neglect that helped channel it. It’s not until near the end of the movie that Ms Honey even knows

Man...and I love that movie. But yeah, the movie definitely stoodout by its heavyhandedness of tropes in the characters. Back in the beginning of the millenium, there was a lot of talk about "indigo" kids, a rise of intelligent savants, and paranormal franchises. Then by the 10's it began to die down in favor of the homo agenda and this (maybe also the next) will be the decade we deal with transhumanism and its bullshit. So this has to be a product of its times, back when young people couldn't waaait to leave their oppressive parents tyranny! Ugh!
