I'm a younger millenial, so I still feel a lot of 2007-2009 was a beautiful time to be alive but people who say 2007 was the first off year might be right. Kind of like how The Simpsons start feeling off at season 7, but S7 and S8 are both great still. 2012 was definitely one of the big ones. 2013 felt like a completely different world already. 2016 of course might be the second biggest one after 2012, in terms of change for the worst.

The sky is hardly ever a deep clear blue like that anymore. Maybe 2 or 3 times per year. Deep lapis lazuli blue like when the color of the water changes in the open ocean because of the depth. The sky is always a pale washed out blue now. Often hazy too.

I notice this in winter the most. 15 years ago there used to be blistering colds days with deep blue sky and extremely bright radiant sunshine, with snow on the ground you really needed sunglasses. I can’t remember the last time there’s been a day like that during winter. It’s always washed out now or not cold enough or meager snow on the ground.

It’s really sad. The guy who commented that parks don’t feel alive anymore made a great observation too. You can sometimes smell sweet spring or summer air but it’s not nearly as intense as it used to be.

I remember staring out the window at rolling hills and the sky. It was visually subtle, but like a ripple in water the color of the sky changed from a deep baby blue to the greyish blue color that it is now. Neither my uncle or dad said anything about it so I just assumed I was crazy and never mentioned it. I once woke up before my room loaded in. It was all white. The general shape was there, but it was bereft of detail. First thing I noticed was the lights being spawned in. I think the world was OKAY until the mid 2010s, it was a gradual decline but 2015/16 and later was when it all became too obnoxious and you couldn't be as "relaxed" or "chill" anymore, you're either the enemy or friend, with them or us.
