It takes time. It has to heal just like an actual scar. It doesn't just go away all at once. It gradually fades and you slowly get better and rebuild your confidence back up. It's all a mental thing. If you just stay positive and give yourself space and time to heal you'll be fine. Sometimes we have to ghost everyone and just go in a room by ourselves for a week or a month or two. If your life circumstances don't allow you to do that then that may be the problem.

Destroying the ego is a destruction process.
You need something else to grow in the place of what was destroyed.
People often find religion or spiritual practices will give them meaning.
Drugs can destroy your ego, without giving you any solutions.
Whereas a religion practice will destroy your selfishness, and replace it with love and wisdom. That's an enormous difference from what drugs do.

A drug experience might just tell you to get your shit together, to love other people, be kind, and take care of your health. But it is up to you to live that life based on your realizations.
