I'm torn on it really.
If it's paranormal then it's people giving in to the voice in their head of temptations. Dangerous ones. Ones that want you to not care how bad a cost is because the rush you feel will be "worth it".
If not paranormal then it's the lack of temperance we're seeing being normalized.

If you can't go a week without a joint, let alone a waking hour with a toke? You cannot handle that as a chemical. No switch that with any other chemical substance, even common ones like chocolate. People who have 0 willpower 0 self awareness 0 care towards their wellbeing don't give a shit if they are covered in bugs and sleeping on a street if it means they can get another hit.
Pity them, but don't find yourself amongst them.
