>Did Jesus actually exist?
Yes.
>Who was he really?
Depends on who you ask. The historical fact is that he was an itinerant apocalyptic preacher from Roman Palestine, with roots in 2nd Temple Judaism and connections to other messianic movements of his time. He was also probably executed publicly, for one reason or another.
If we read the accounts we can only assume are from his closest associates, he claimed to be the Son of God (whether this means he was also God Incarnate is a whole other debate) and the prophesied mashiach. Later on, after his death, some sectarian followers of his created a syncretic mix of his teachings, earlier Greek thought, and occult Hellenic Egyptian mystery practices, propped up by a collection of idiosyncratic writings that, strangely, were completely and utterly at odds with the exoteric teachings of the earlier gospels.

Yes. Jesus was someone like you, but with a specific divine spark that made him pursue Truth (God), so he did the needful and achieved the goal of life (to become one with God - or better yet, to remember you're one with God). in order to do that, he had to learn and share (teach) the path. that's Christianity
