You can think of cancers/tumors as the organism going mad and trying to bud out like a hydra.

Weird. When I was like 12 or 13 I 'made up' a similar parasite. The eggs or baby worm would enter a host, where it would literally take root. These roots ran throughout most of the body. Then, when it feels it has properly rooted, it would fatality shock the host, allowing it to take control and restart the body without host interference.
