Idk man, I just find it strange that the universe and earth have existed for billions of years, and then such advanced beings as humans just suddenly show up like a couple hundred thousand years ago. Then we take hundreds of thousands of years to build cities, learn to write and just start exponentially advancing from there. Like you have to imagine how slow everything progressed from the beginning of time, and then humans, only from about 20k years ago to now (an extremely short amount of time) we've made the world nearly unrecognizable.

Idk man, just consider the fact that humanity has only had the means to hazard a guess on this stuff so recently, I have a feeling all this shit is gonna be wrong, I just don't feel like it makes any sense on a instinctive level. Anybody have any interesting theories related to this?

The evolution of (pre-ape) monkeys 20-60 million years ago had critical significance to the evolution of human intelligence. I could try giving a crude summary of it but really you should go googling and learn more about it because it's very interesting and underappreciated.

The radiation of animals into the forest canopy and into the sky succeeded the animal colonization of land, which is wonderfully neat/elegant because colonization by animals continued in the upward direction. The evolution of warm-bloodedness in mammals and dinosaurs was also a 10s/100s million year gradual process, which was also closely related to the growth of animal intelligence.

My point is, if you look at what led to the homo sapiens explosion, it's actually frustratingly hard to pin down where the acceleration begins. There is always an intermediate phase logically preceding whenever you drop the pin. Like, you mention 100,000s of years probably referring to homo sapiens speciation ~300,000 years ago, but development was continuous going back another 300,000 years and another and a million, 10 million years. It's one of these ambiguously /x/-related questions but I don't blame you because the other boards one might ask this have more restricted views. We, like most sentient biologicals, are a musical species. We learn language and skills rapidly compared to "animals" because our brains readily learn songs like birds do. That predisposition to care about the opinion of another enough to repeat it, and to do this daily with some many different ideas, is a weakness as well as a strength...we have learned helplessness in the face of the billionaires. I've not encountered one good idea for overcoming them that would work and is realistic, which is ridiculous because we all know your average poor child could kill your average billionaire with their bare fists, because we all know billionaires will get us killed and yet we just keep coasting. I think they're really dropping a deuce on people's interest in history by saying humans are only like 100k years old. Supposedly they found a giant hammer that's like 4mil years old.
