Depends on the model.
I have:
>Intel Xeon E5 v3 @ 3.10GHz>16.0GB Dual-Channel DDR4 @ 931MHz (13-13-13-30)>4095MB NVIDIA Quadro K2200The heaviest model I got RyanReos' High Priestess (a model I can barely move) while the least heavy is one of the Zelda models in Smutbase by nextr3d. I have done some animations and renders in Cycles but I would need to know which model you were using. Ashley from REmake 4? One of the many Tifas? Or even something like Juno from Overwatch? Most of those require at least 3 to 4 GB of VRAM so I don't know if I can help you with that but if you manage to open the blend file there are a few things you can do.
>Open file>Put it in Solid mode (Top right in the main model window)>On the properties tab to the right, click the little icon that looks like a tv. Go down and click Simplify. Open it to put the max subdivision to zero. That's probably the best you could do.
Here is a render of Yuffie I did plus another one that's coomer potential on catbox.

In your case, just getting a small upgrade to your GPU would do you a lot of favors. Probably a GTX card, they are probably cheap now.
