This is 2025 anon, just discuss it with GPT. It's way better at filling you in on precisely what you wanna understand than looking for a tutorial.

If you don't want it to summarize the important bits for you just ask it to point you to the URL's of relevant tutorials.

Am I the only guy who thinks there's value in seeing what the end result is going to be before attempting something? Like the attached I found on BlenderArtists, the geometry of the eye is wrong (the cornea should be inverted) but the material is good. I'm looking for a place where people share screeenshots like this and you don't need to dig through garbage to find them. In the past there used to be magazines and wiki pages that would compile this community acquired knowledge.

even better you can download the whol help documentation for your thing, load it in, and then quiz for w/e you need.
What drives me up the wall is trying to ask pointed questions on the internet and everyone having the uncontrollable urge to tell you they're not going to answer your question and it's your fault. chat gpt just answers the question.

The software documentation is not going to tell you how to make an android iris with iridescent iris. It will just tell you which node is for iridescence.

I'm alright with that, the quality of writing/tutorials went down drastically in 2022-2023

i do miss the exitment of a new subject interest magazine but space to store them becomes problematic unless there if a pdf option- i think maybe some of the cd's had one.. i kept all the cd's when i dumped mine. mental roy was my first go to read. if i had space i'd keep eveything i ever had but i keep burying myself in stuff like this and digital is the only sane way to keep it all- even though physical media is more stable archive material. Once i settled on blender and the yt tutorial numbers ballooned, a broad spectrum magazine seemed wastefull but for the bits on new tech created on new movies. i wish i scould still flip through them though.
