are there any legit reasons to use Maya & Zbrush (or any other industry standard) over Blender for someone who wants to treat modeling/sculpting as a freelance side hustle?

I'm not interested in a full career, I'm too old for that and already have things going on in my life, I just want to fulfill a childhood dream of "modelling like a pro".

Blender is quickly becoming the industry standard, due to the sheer amount of people using and supporting it.

personal preference, Blender is not as bad as Gimp but it's "special", like most open source software

Those people can’t figure out why Blender won’t update anything important in sculpting or CAD related tools. You always have to find a 3rd party software to do sculpting. Those noobs at blender can’t tell the difference between Foot long and centimeters, not the people you should trust with 3D printing. Lastly, Blender will never work well with other software. You blindly follow their guide and when X file mysteriously doesn’t work, you too will find out that Blender has decided to not comply with Open Source standards.

If you're not going pro or joining a studio, just do it in blender, it's really not that deep. Personally I would suggest you to pirate zbrush and learn that instead, it really is the best when it comes to sculpting

Says the blenets that complaint about plugins being incompatible with newer patches. Blender is never going to fix anything you want, that’s why Autodesk and other companies exist.

Get a CGMA course and use zbrush. Interface is alien but with a help of course you can get over it and use the best sculpting software out there.
Blender is nice all in one software but as the saying goes, whats good for everything is good for no thing.

Blender bros... is it over? I think it's over. It's never been more over actually. Over? Yeah, that's us. We're over. All the other times it's been over? Mere specks of dust compared to how over it is now.
Post a picture of your hand, if you please.

Just give up, Blender once again is falling behind on features, bugs, feedback and talent.

>Maya’s new features: boolean node, shared scenes, better rigging, light link and cloud based workflow for ultra high polygon models.
>Blender list of cant: boolean, sharing, automated rigging standards, a rigging system that doesn’t break outside of blender’s standards, lightning based systems and high polygons that go over in the millions.
It’s over, blender developers never cared about what you think or wanted.

if you require the detail, blender is not going to cut it with sculpting

if you are just talking about modeling and not animation, blender can be used over maya, but once you do anything more advanced, if the place uses maya, you need maya.

No, not legit reason to use Maya outside of a pipeline that requires it. Blender is as good as Maya. Zbrush is a must until today.

Blender suck at everything the only use is to keep bewannabes artist from real artist. Nobody in the rightmind use a program with a alien ui and depend on shortcut 90 porcent. It will never be industry standard no matter how many time this losers say so.

Let's say for the sake of argument, everything you've schizo spamed in various threads is true. What are you hoping to achieve here? No one is going to change their opinion on what software they like. If I say "you are completely right about Blender and I'm moving to use picoCAD," will it satisfy your autistic urges?

as a hobbyist blender is all you need. if you want to get into the industry at any point then you will need zbrush for sculpting, its a non negotiable. i use blender over maya at work for hardsurface though. some of my teammates use maya. it doesn't really matter as long as you can make what you are trying to make and are comfortable in the program

True.
The Pajeetification and its consequences have been a disaster for the human race.
Total global population is 8 billion. Of those are 1.5 billion pajeets. Pajeets are a plague.
