I refuse to believe this software was made for humans. After using it for over a year i'm confident in saying that it is possibly the most retarded 3D modelling program ever created.
There's over 5 unique ways you can make objects vanish, 3 of which can easily be done by accident. When items don't appear in the final render you have to troubleshoot a million different settings to figure out why not. The modelling viewport NEVER matches the render output for some reason because the HDRI preview is not directly linked to the world render source. Same problem for hidden objects. For the love of god just render what is shown in the modelling window. Why in the hell would I want the render to be different from what I see in my work view? Accidentally miss click a macro? Sorry something retarded occurred that is impossible to troubleshoot haha. Radial arrays require an autistic method that includes empties (whatever the hell that is) and mathematics. Not a single software on earth functions this way to accomplish something so simple. Modifiers will not work several times and then suddenly function properly despite not changing a single metric. Apparently just deleting and reapplying them 4 times in a row will suddenly make them function as intended. Despite enabling certain options in the UI, they STILL do not behave as expected (orbit around selection enabled, doesn't work, MMB just zooms out randomly instead).
On a deadline and something occurred in your workflow that fucked up a render for literally no reason? Sorry the Discord support team are full of unhelpful assholes that refuse to actually do anything. Also good luck googling anything to troubleshoot buggy trash that happens. Blender has like 2 different names for menu items making it impossible to actually figure out what's broken.

I simply can't understand why or how anyone would make something this terrible and expect human beings to tolerate it. Nobody makes software like this. Open source was a mistake.

>Use MMB to orbit around model
>Camera simultaneously zooms in and out erratically
>Every time you rotate, the camera jumps back ever farther away from your model
>This is something called the "Auto Zoom" feature that was enabled completely randomly and isn't actually a bug

seriously who the hell was this shit designed for? Why would anyone want their viewport to jump in and out of zoom distances like a seizure victim? I can't even begin to imagine any instance in CAD where this is even remotely useful.

Is it actually possible to transform a vertex along the axies of its face? Or to snap something rotating so that a face/line is alligned globally? Its been months and still havent found out how

>Discord support team
You have https://blender.stackexchange.com/
I couldn't care less about the render engine, my main complain is to have to remap the collection shortcuts because you can't lock them by viewport, you accidentally touch a top number in the keyboard and all the viewport is fucked, as for the array they are planing to include ""advanced"" modifier nodes and advanced primitives for the 5.0 and that was mentioned, I hope they add a slice option and the new bevel for the boolean if that lands in the 5.0 too.

Stockexchange is dead, did you not hear the news about mods and people deleting everything. Only bots exist now.

>Is it actually possible to transform a vertex along the axies of its face
I'm not sure of an easy way to do this. But you can accomplish it anyway, by first selecting the face, then going up to the transform orientation panel.(It might say global or local) In the transform orientation panel, press the + symbol. It should add to the list with "face". Select that.

With the face selected as your transform orientation, Blender will now recognize the normal of the face. Select the vertex you wish to move, and press G. Then press either X or Y. If you succeeded, then the vert should be moving along the axies of the face. Pro tip, While in grab, if you press Shift+Z, it will disable the Z axis, and keep both X and Y enabled. Allowing you toe move freely along the axies of the face.

>Or to snap something rotating so that a face/line is alligned globally?
I used to know how to do that too. But I forgot. I think it also involved creating a transform orientation for a face.

Well shit, thanks. Ive been bodging it by locking the axies and snapping to lines, this should make things much easier!

Its a shame snapping for rotation is such a headache. For UVs especially, why cant i select one line to be the focus of a snap and get it perfectly flat? It would make everything so much less painful

Iirc you would press G followed by the axis shortcut twice.

I had that idea too. But when I tried it, it didn't make the vert move flush to any of its faces. Rather, the vert moved flush to the global axis. Pressing the axis short cut repeated, just toggled between the verts normal axis, and the global axis. Never finding any of the faces' axes

Boomers and Gen X fags were using Softimage in the 80's and that was notoriously difficult. Blender is the Python of 3D software programs.

Softimage 3D, Power Animator and even Lightwave all had a consistent workflow and logical UI other than that cooked up internal tool Blunder.

I donno anon, I used to work at a TV station and made virtual sets, intros and other crap the station needed with 3Ds Max, I also did the 3D assets for a couple games and it was fun. Using Blender is not fun, in fact it's the only 3D program I do not find fun. XSI was great, Cinema 4D is good, Maya another Classic, even Zbrush was more intuitive.

Blender is like the GIMP of 3D programs. I need some one to make the Krita of 3D programs so I can forget about autodesk forever.

I have been trying to learn blender since 2005 and it still feels so inefficient and like getting punched in the face. The people with baby duck syndrome say it's great but that's because that the first program they used and never had to deal with a real production environment.

>There's over 5 unique ways you can make objects vanish
I know of only "h" and the 1,2,3 etc keys which you can disable anytime, "over 5" seems like a lie to me
>items don't appear in the final render
Organize your file better
> the render output for some reason because the HDRI preview is not directly linked to the world render source
"Viewport shading" check "Scene light" and "Scene world" that's it
>Radial arrays
It's called "Spin" on the left menu
> Modifiers will not work several times
Which modifier? Never happened to me once since I started in 2008, no idea what you're talking about here
>UI behavior
You tried to get a custom navigation into blender but then complain it doesn't do what you want, no shit if it's not the vanilla navigation. Factory settings work best for me
>Discord
Don't go there, there's other places like Blenderartist and substack or whatever it's called
>but it's reddit tier
Okay no wonder you never find answers
>2 different names for menu items
I never saw that? Maybe it's because the different workspaces use similar functions but just learn what workspace you should be using

Anyway I took the bait, Blender's UI is perfectly fine, literally just hit F3 and type what you need it's not that hard. I think you just don't like Blender, so stop using it, no one is forcing you to
