It seems that Oki had the power of humanizing monsters but there are certain conditions and reactions to it. Yaoi hands and Alfur were fine even after she died, the monster-turned-coat also knew some words but didn't turn into a human.

It's not just the a ending. Akira doesn't sound girly in the way that Hona does. Also, Japanese words typically don't have consonants at the end of syllables or adjacent to one another, which most of these names have. So they're definitely more fantasy names.
