There's definitely a different tone being established. Yes, once you look beneath the surface the Sandroisms (cocky but laidback MC who could be LE MONSTER but adheres strictly to the Sandro Creed of martial morality, random family members/close friends being revealed as hyper powerful, smug side characters) but Strike It Rich has more of an upbeat prep girl feel. It's basically about a bunch of martial arts nepo babies having a family reunion (and not just the star children, but the MC and her pals also turn out to have connections to FotS boomers/high level Yakuza). Blue Ursus has more of a grungy punk delinquent feel. It's probably actually very dated by current Japanese standards but it's Sandrobitch's idea of the "bad kids" life similar to Battle Royale and basically any media with a bancho haircut dude in it.

Honestly my impression was that SiR was an experiment by Sandro to see what sort of cute girl violence his audience wants/is willing to tolerate, with Blue Ursus being a refinement of it. My evidence? He clearly read about the large woman love from these friends and the MC is literally named Sena.

And I would say Yhwach is a villain because he revels in brutality when enforcing his regime but again, Soul Society was literally built on rewarding monsters like Kenpachi (and let's be honest, underneath the coolness Kenpachi is an animal in human skin) and Mayuri. He was trapping people in what he personally thought was an ideal world and what would make them happy. So while yes he could make a world where certain bad events didn't happen, it was all up to his personal discretion and bias. The only example I can think of that had no downsides was in Final Fantasy Tactics Advance where the fictional world had no actual catch to it aside from not really being reality. If the characters wanted to stay there of their own free will, that should have been their decision.

It sucks for me in particular because it's a rare case of the animeonly content being FUCKING good. After Kiryu's final fight with Ohma, instead of escaping offscreen he finally calms down and Ohma actually talks him out of seeing him as a god. He still wants to fight Ohma but like, out of respect as a warrior. So while he leaves KAT as a broken man, Kiryu actually gets some closure and something akin to a healthy drive in life even though he's back out on the streets.

They may have gutted the Hayami plotline but honestly, it was a worthwhile sacrifice.

1. Julius:Going in there first to absorb as much damage as possible and test his ability against maximum Unga
2. Lolong:High tier all arounder, can probably get a hit or two in/test the waters
3. Rei: Speed check, generally there to begin the process of accumulating small hits/draining stamina (if Shen does have "stamina")
4. Raian: Relying on Ryan to tire him out get him more vulnerable than anyone else with Kure unga/rabid pitbull energy
5. Lihito: Literally just there to try to bleed him with Razor's Edge as much as possible, put him at the halfway point to give him a solid chance to land something while not losing too valuable a slot on only a somewhat capable fighter overall
6. Waka: Unga Bunga 3, 0.1% chance of landing a blast core even if he's abandoned it for "jab" but he has better fighting instincts than Julius so he should be able to land at least one or two heavy attacks by this point
7. Kuroki: Best chance at doing significant damage but still not confident enough in him to anchor him against a not sufficiently injured Shen, if we think of this as a raid boss, Kuroki's the guy who does the highest DPS but fails near the end to ensure the others can cleanup
8. Kaneda: By this point he's hopefully had enough time to analyze something resembling a pattern to Shen's fighting style but he's fully on the defensive/stamina drain tactics to try to squeeze as much information for Agito as possible
9. Agito: Cramming as many principles and wall/razor scaling into this autistic boy as possible, especially after Kaneda, to try to force the highest level of evolution possible
10. Ohma: Ohma

His lazy Sandroisms have been part of Asura since the start. Go look at any character bio in Asura's chapters and you'll see Sandro admitting to how so much of what he writes is written on the fly.
In these bios, he's always vague as to whether or not a character is going to have any significant role in the future.
The only difference is that in Asura he could get away with that shit because:
1. His Sandroisms weren't well established yet.
2. He was making the building blocks to Kengan's world, so he could afford to be a bit elusive and vague about specifics, because at that point (back when Asura was still new and we didn't have Omega yet), we still were willing to give the man time to cook and give us answers, not knowing there wouldn't be any satisfying payoffs.
