Dr Lionni's misogyny... Nyaan's positionality as a refugee, wondering if her Zeon patron will like her "ethnic" food... In the short term, EF winning is definitely better. In the long term, maybe Zeon, though that's not because of any benevolence on Zeon's part. In the OTL, the Federation squashed all research and development into newtypes. The reviled it as just Zeon/spacenoid propaganda, and it became something of a conspiracy theory, like UFOs. In GQuX, it's obvious to everyone that there are space wizards running about thanks to Char, so newtype tech is heavily researched and way further along than it was in the OTL. Newtype tech will be the key to finally escaping the solar system.

Even if that doesn't pan out, Zeon fucking itself on its own will discredit it and there won't be any major Neo Zeon movements. The EF being fucked as well means that the colonies can exercise more freedom, which means less spacenoids hurling rocks at the Earth. The only good end of the OYW was Zeon scraping by with a Pyrrhic victory.

What are these theories? Isn't it clearly implied in Episode 4 that he's an alternate universe version of Shiiko Sugai's son?
We don't know much about her except that she was a Federation pilot and her MAV (probably Shuji's father) was killed by Char.
It is possible that Shuji is Amuro's son but based on what Lalah says it sounds like she's trying to find/create a universe/timeline where both Char and Amuro survive, so I kind of doubt he's dead here (who knows tho).
Either way, the real ramifications here are to the resolution of the series. If Shuji is from another universe/timeline then it complicates the possible happy endings we can have.
Alternate Lalah and the Zeknova's being used for travel also introduces the potential for other alternate universe versions of characters to show up.
