why do you care? it's a mediocre and ultimately uninfluentual story that was kinda popular for a bit because the manga artist did come copic marker flipbooks and the anime adaption was kinda pretty. There's much more interesting incidents in japanese history to obsess over

Name me 1 manga, with chart or graph evidence, that has not experienced a decline in sales halfway through it's run. Name me 1 manga that lasted it's entire run, or at least almost it's entire run, with constantly rising sales. You can't. Every manga has a peak and a decline when people lose interest and move onto the next popular manga. 200000 in sales is still great sales, that's literally like 2 million dollars for a single volume or about a month's worth of work. That's 24 million dollars a year just in volume sales, that's not even counting merch sales.
I mean, the OPM manga has turned into dogshit and Murata is clearly a retard, but sales charts don't really reflect the quality of a manga.
