That guy is Makusa, a character who debuted in the anime (kinda canon) filler. He is a researcher of magic tools, and Sally's tard-wrangler. Technically he's just a guest character, a cameo from one of the guys who sang OP11 and 13, so he's not really important. I mean, he had like... three lines in that one episode, it was more about Sally.

I think I'm getting where Nacht's character is going. He seems to value people who were good from the start and wants them to succeed, though I still think he was mega harsh with the other Black Bulls given they were never evil, just unmotivated. I imagine his character arc will eventually make him accept that everyone is flawed and not all bad people deserve to be judged for their past crimes if they really want redemption. His gaze in the first panel of page 18 is likely him showing his true self.

Some anon in the previous thread said that Nacht was super shilled, with him being portrayed as super cool all the time and flexing on characters that rank higher than him, and while I don't think he's a bad character, a part of me cannot help but agree the author is trying a bit too hard to him. He's basically someone who just appeared after years spying and he's ordering all these people like if he's the Wizard King himself. Makes sense that he would lead the raid squad since he's knowledgeable about the Spade kingdom, but I doubt some of the more proud or problematic captains like Nozel or Jack would follow him so willingly.

It did. A bit understandable considering their country lacks a lot of resources, not many of them get to thrive. They're prone to invade other nations but mostly out of desperation, ironically, thanks to Morris and his modifications they got to be stronger, but now he's gone and so are his generals. Mars is probably the strongest mage in the kingdom by now.
