I recently watched the Blue Archive anime and really enjoyed it, did /a/ like it at the time it was airing? Do you guys think it'll get a S2? Was it really that different from the game?
Aru was my favorite from the anime she's cute and smart.

Glad you liked it anon. A lot of people didn't like the adaptation but I think it improves on the game's version of the story in a number of ways even if there's a couple of steps back. It gave more stuff to characters that were severely underutilized in the original version yet cut or altered scenes to do so, and you're gonna get varied opinions no matter what there.

If you enjoyed it you should check the game itself out too, it's coming out on Steam in like 10 days. Aru has multiple versions you can get and there's quite a few stories that feature her.

I'll admit that I don't think it sells people on the game and world as much as it could have, I found it really enjoyable as someone who already likes the cast and setting. I think trying to adapt Volume 1 wasn't the best move they could have made, an anthology-esque series swapping between different cast members and showing the many aspects of Kivotos would have done a lot better in both newcomer and fan reception.

As a blue archive player, I liked the OP but I was never for an anime.

An anime can never really do a gacha justice. What players can imagine in their mind to fill in gaps of story events is always more impressive than what the anime can churn out

Really depends how much money mihomo is willing to throw into it. Gacha anime are typically better when they dont follow the story of the game at all and have fun priconne s1 is an example or they dont have a self insert character at all and it's decently animated.

I just assume they will all be shit. And I dont think they do anything to promote the game much. All the gacha anime I've seen failed to produce bumps in in-game revenue

The game itself leaves it open so that the player can imagine sensei as either gender, age or body type but with tbe player base being massively male, a female sensei portrayed in official manner would be dumb. Even for the anime one, they said it was only canon to the anime universe and not a real representation of actual sensei (the player)

Kayoko is heavily implied to have originally worked with Ako in the Prefect Team only to become sick of it and break away. She has the smarts and skills to do much better than Problem Solver but hates the way other clubs and organizations operate. Problem Solver feels like a family to her and that's why she likes it. The rambunctiousness and simultaneous complete lack of yet attempt to keep professionalism is the perfect note to hit to keep her happy. She doesn't want to be completely lawless but doesn't want to be an uptight goody-two-shoes either. She also doesn't want to be some random rank and file who has to kiss up to authority but doesn't want the responsibility or social expectations of a leadership role at the same time.
