These were pretty in your face since their first appearance what their motivations were: dark cures were brainwashed and Iona was mad because Hime is a retard and Nyammy wanted to protect Mayu.
Meroron was starting to warm up to the cures and now she pulled a 180 and is trying to keep Purirun to herself and isolated from others. It would've been a logical progression if the lock's curse affected her but that doesn't seem to be the case, best answer I've seen is that she feels guilty about causing Purirun's amnesia so she's trying to collect the ribbons herself so she can return Purirun's memories.
Goes well with the overarching theme of characters feeling they need to do things alone without the help of others like Nana and Kokoro did in their focus episodes.

Nyammy is a straightforward kind of arc, thematically it works but it's also frustrating because in a meta level a Precure fan WANTS to see her punching and kicking shit like a badass, yet the characters berate her for doing it.

In Kiss' case it's less straightforward, it has more of a poisonous edge to it, I don't think it's "contrived" because it's consistent both with what we saw of Meroron up to this point and fitting with the key and lock symbolism of the toy and transformation catchphrase. It's not something for everybody, but I think Kiss is a welcome change of pace, people who like "good" characters can still look forward to Cure Zukyoon recovering her memories.
Feels like Kimi to Idol is ok with a person not liking all characters, as long as they like someone.
