It works when Ikuhara does it because half his humans aren't actually humans and just embody concepts, and I'm reasonably sure that's a major reason why Enokido the dumb hack thinks this is okay here, but it's not. Embodying the concept of fentanyl could be funny if the story leaned into it and there were more concept characters and less UC memberberries, but I doubt Enokido has even thought that far.

This isn't really a problem of the serialization place but rather a conceptual inherent one. Works that are just talking about are always less successful those who actually show with audiences who care about . This is true even for cute girls shows where there are huge inherent synergies - the popular franchises aren't those where cute girls talk about military Gear, the popular ones are those where cute girls use or are military Gear, even though you'd already have plenty of added value for the audience that likes both cute girls and nerding out about a topic they like. Yurifags don't even have that advantage if they're male. The ones who want to see cute boys nerding out about topics are the fujos, not other yurifags. I really don't see a way around this core problem, unless you're willing to create an extremely unholy omnipandering BL pseudo yuri abomination where dudes unknowingly romance each other while larping as girls in VR or something.
