Now that said, the way Regulus' authority works is that it only functions as long as he loves his wife, but he's such an autist that actually is kind of an issue. As such, in practical terms, there is a range requirement for his wives which is why they're always relatively close to him and he brings them around places. If they were away from him for too long so he couldn't occasionally look at them, he'd forget them and thus lose his love and they would no longer hold his heart. So basically once he fell for long enough and started ranting about it, he'd likely forget all about his wives because he'd be consumed totally by his ranting and then his authority wouldn't function and he'd die.

Rem gets the most important speech in the entire series, which it is named after. Rem is the focus and goal of the MC in a far more tangible way than Emilia ever is and for more of the story. He wrote the first IF for her because he was really interested in exploring the idea. He's written side story after side story and novel after novel expanding her history and relationships, the entire current structure of the story with all these expansive side materials started with stuff for her and Subaru. The only character Tappei arguably hates is Regulus, and he says he loves all the rest.
