I don't think it's impossible to love someone you don't personally known. You can love the image you have in your mind of celebrities, someone you saw but never interacted with, politicians, fictional characters but an idol isn't able to remember all the faces of all her fans in her concerts or her conventions, even if she remembers the faces she won't have a proper view of who this person is and he never saw many of her fans. The only ones she would be able to remember are the ones who stand out. Freaks who cause trouble, insane dedicated ones. The only ones she is capable to love are the ones she properly remembers but I doubt that an idol loves her dedicated fans.

Come to think of it, what happens to idols after their careers dissipate? I've heard of former idols landing management or producer roles, and some of the more outgoing ones even finding rich husbands, but where do the rest end up? Do they just fall through the floor?
