Yeah it's dead. I don't know what it would take to make it interesting again. I was watching something every season from 2012 to 2022, it started gradually worse until it got to what it is today. A great season has 1 good show and 2 watchable ones. Now I wait until the whole year is over to see if there 4 or 5 shows worth watching. I used to love watching underwatched anime, sometimes you could find a gem like Rokka no Yuusha, Onihei, punch line, Lord Marksman and the vanadis etc..
