I did what the camera anons told me and bought an auto focus lens. That's working great but my lighting setup is shit, so I've been lowering the exposure. While doing so I noticed the yellow on his hair and thought that was just because of over exposure. Turns out no, the paints just buggered. I've had him for a month and a half and at no point was he in direct sunlight. Very frankly I am thoroughly miffed.

My advice is
- Use a lens with longer focal length, or use longer focal length zoom lenses (higher mm number), I find portrait lenses work nicely (85mm or so full frame, 50mm or so apsc)
- Take photos in raw format and use photoshop to do editing, mainly you want to edit the skin colour of the figures to make it more pink and lifelike
- If you want 'flat' lighting, you can just remove all lights and rely on window lighting, by using a tripod and doing a long exposure in a dark-ish corner of your room
- Or disregard everything here and do more and see what you like

Just follow the other anon's advice. Go read a beginner's guide or watch a video. Put your camera on a table or something, and then play with it in manual mode.
Also, ring lights fall into shit lighting category, so don't use it unless you really need it.

If he's the anon who posted here recently, he's using a 50mm on a Nikon D3200, which is APSC, so it's already 75mm full frame equivalent. And the viewfinder is small, not very suitable for manual focusing, and likely does not have live view with 100% magnification to check focus. I noticed that the reason for some price discrepancies between stores seems to be that Amico global site adds Japanese sales tax for some reason, but a bunch of other stores don't, at least to the list price.

If you want a serious answer it's prob that they're shipping from different fulfilment centers so they physically won't bundle it together, for the same reason mandarake can't combine theirs. Everything's already packaged when it hits outbound to a sort center. It also keeps the pick rate high for the order pickers, the stow rate high at the DS and whatever metric they use for the driver.
