Recently finished watching the anime. The last episodes focused on Nakao, a student that is reminiscent of Kazuyuki, though less crazy and obsessive. While I can relate to both characters, I don't find the message of their arcs to be as uplifting as it was probably meant to be. Maybe I'm being too cynical, but my main takeaway was that if you're invisible in the eyes of others, then it would take something as drastic as the possibility of you committing suicide for people to start caring about you. Had such a dramatic development never occurred, everyone would have kept on ignoring the quiet kid (in both aforementioned cases).

Did you like it? Favorite character?
I enjoyed this manga immensely. It was incredibly fun and extremely dynamic, maybe a bit too dynamic at times. I don't remember the last time I read a series with such insane pacing and out of nowhere existential drama essentially ever chapter. The last arc however was just nonsense and I didn't like it, though maybe I didn't dislike it as much as some people.
Even though I thought it wasn't the best, it in no way ruined the rest or took anything away from it, it was an absolute joy to read. In fact I think this is probably a top 5 manga I dumped in this entire daily.

Every character was really great, but Sana was unmatched. One of my favorite girls ever this daily as well.

Next time- quite literally the polar opposite of what we read the last 2 months (well maybe not with some chapters), we're going to the unbelievably brutal world of medieval Switzerland to see why they're the way they are today- Wolfsmund (like 35 chapters I think)

I loved this manga a lot. I loved most of the characters, especially Rei, Mrs. Kurata, and Hayama, but Sana was the undisputed star of the show. Endlessly positive, a light in everybody's life, and super-duper ultra cute 100% of the time. You have to love her, you just have to. I feel like the manga hit the heavy marks pretty well too, and it didn't feel like it was ever talking down to me or anything
BUT
I fucking hated that doll syndrome bullshit. It ended within like four chapters or whatever, so I can move past it no problem, and I liked the runaway stuff and the finale, but by god I couldn't stand those chapters at all, between backtracking heavy after they finally get together, the NTRbait with Naozumi, Akito's sacrifice feeling meaningless, the feeling that the two of them shouldn't even be together. Again, it ended, so it's fine, but I absolutely hated it at the time.
Anyway, thanks again. Looking forward to eventually checking out the show, and finding out what it is that makes the Swiss such freaks

I loved most of it. I hated the last arc. I really liked Sana right off the bat. Her cheery personality was incredibly fun to read, which is probably why the end was so weak. Her mom was great too.

The panel with the baby is pretty macabre imagery for a shoujo manga like this. It feels like it would fit more in something like Berserk. I'm surprised I didn't make the connection that being abandoned as a baby is the root cause. That kind of thing can fuck someone up even without having explicit memories of it, but Sana was otherwise so cheerful.
