The fights in part 9 have felt a lot more realistic. Or as realistic as a stand battle can be.
November Rain oneshotting Bobby Jean is a good example. NR raindrops are treated like bullets, and it only takes one to do someone in.
Or here, Ningbo doesn't have the infinite pain tolerance that Jojo characters tend to have.
This feels like the most grounded Jojo part so far, with the stand powers being either weak or situational, but still being effective because even a bad superpower is a big advantage over no superpower.

Well right now a lot of things could happen, we’re in a multi-person stand battle taking place in two different locations with so many different motives at play all revolving around this interrogation at the yacht. Howler could fold here and lose everything which could lead to big moves from Jodio and gang, Howler would fight back with everything he has to get payback. Or Howler gets out of this with his money, but is now the one pursuing the gang because of they have the lava rock which has deep roots in the howler family. There’s also Laem Chebang and Key West who may or may not stick by Howlers side. Lulu is our wildcard, I’m excited to see what happens with her.

If they just killed off dragon jojo the story could really spread its wings. The death of dragon would be hugely motivation for his brother and the rest of the squad. It would remove having to show him in panels. It would give breathing room for Jodio to be seen as jojo the protagonist. So many problems with the manga simpluy because of dragon.

Personally I think this has a very strong start. If we're comparing just early volumes, I think the only parts that beat it might be 5/7. We'll have to see if it can keep the momentum up, because a lot of other parts got progressively better as they went on. I just realized, is Laem Chabang even still alive? When pic related grabs someone he can insta-age them, he mainly uses a long-range ability with a conditional trigger which is rather similar to Lulu but he still gets to apply the biological effect at accelerated speed on direct contact. If Lulu's disease stand works like that then maybe creepy worm dyke didn't finish her interrogation at all and Lulu (somehow) used her cellphone to send the information. If she can make it look like Laem interrogated her and then killed her, she gets to fake her own death and be free of her former employer. One big motivation for her to consider a change of career would be that Howler strangely insisted to give critical knowledge to her but not her partner. Maybe he was just gonna kill her after she brings the rock.

I think that Ningbo still has a few aces up his sleeves. While obviously he's absolutely fucked, we saw villains doing some really gruesome shit to themselves before finally dying.

I don't think that Acca will use his Stand yet. Key will probably finally show her abilities and will create an opening for him to run away while simultaneously starting a fight with Dragona, Jodio, and CM.

I like Leam; she's an amusing kind of cunt. I'm not sure really what she's going to do right now. Her fighting skills are also an enigma. IRL nematode infections lead to serious health issues, but I'm not sure if Araki will want to draw everybody just having explosive diarrhea.
