>lack of flaws
Check. Both the girlfriends and the fans all constantly hold him up and proclaim that he's the ultimate perfect boyfriend and has no flaws (but treat that like some kind of writing accomplishment rather than shortcoming)
>author insert / idealized character
I sincerely doubt Nakamura self inserts as Rentarou. He's a grown man with a successful career, he doesn't need to fantasize about having a giant harem of underaged girls. No, his focus is purely on selling that fantasy to his readers instead. Although you could just change the criteria to "reader self insert" and it still fits.
>exceptional abilities
Check. If the plot needs him to suddenly be faster than the speed of light or stronger than god or able to do literally anything else, he can just instantly do it like it was nothing and with no explanation besides "becuz love XD"
>unearned success
Check. Girls instantly fall in love with him from a single moment of eye contact, and even when the story pretends that's not enough, he just uses the aforementioned free access to infinite power and having no flaws to do whatever he needs to do to win her over a few pages later with no effort.
>Lack of character growth.
Check. Only thing that ever grows about him is his harem size. Again this ties back to the earlier points, where the manga, writer and fanbase not only don't think he needs to grow or change because he's already the perfect, flawless boyfriend capable of literally anything since chapter 1, but praise all these traits like it makes him BETTER written instead of worse.
So yeah, besides 1 point that can be easily substituted for another, he's a classic Mary Sue. But it's supposed to be ok and good writing because "it's just satire XD", except when it conveniently isn't.
