I personally don't think Purirun getting her memories restored ends the midseason arc. Purirun remembering again might happen in a couple of episodes, but the real resolution of the arc is likely learning what Meroron lost and dealing with it somehow. The remaining episodes in June are definitely Purirun focused, but that still leaves 2-3 episodes in July that are Meroron focused to wrap up the 2nd cour climax.

Because while yes, Setsuna is generally interesting enough to carry a huge chunk of the show from that point on and displays a level of care and perceptiveness that makes her fun to watch, the goodwill the show earned in the early game is quickly squandered entering the midgame which puts it on a bad foot for when the writers scramble to wrap it up in the last 20-25% or so.
What's annoying is that I don't think Miki and Inori are inherently weak characters, or else the early show wouldn't be very good to watch. I really think they just gave up because

I played all the Precure games and the HappinessCharge one is pretty good actually, it has like 300+ clothes that you can unlock and it has all the Cures up to that point.

I found the FW GBA game at my local import store, sadly they didn't have the Max Heart GBA game. I've been intending to download a ROM for the Max Heart DS game, maybe now is as good a time as any.

The point is that Meroron and Purirun have kinda had more of a meaningful setup to develop into an actual romance this season, than Iroha and Satoru did throughout Wonderful prior to them getting together. And on the point of Satoru helping Iroha out, he kinda helped Komugi out, especially earlier on in the season, more than he helped Iroha. He was still a good friend to her of course, but it always kinda felt more like he was helping Komugi out early on (Makes sense, considering his role). Unless we're talking about his fun animal facts with the Animal of the Week segments, which was more just him helping out everybody.
On the other hand, Meroron literally sacrificed a part of herself to help fulfill Purirun's wish, which is kinda immediately much more than anything Satoru ever did. (And no, Purirun losing her memories does not invalidate this, Purirun herself chose to lose those memories.)

Max Heart DS has some odd boss choices. For whatever reason, the roller coaster Zakenna is the 4th boss and the vaccum cleaner Zakenna is the 2nd boss. A bit strange considering those aren't from Max Heart.
Combat is brainlessly simple, you even automatically move to the nearest enemy just by pressing A. If one Cure falls, the other can pick them up with full health for no cost. Screen nukes are nice, but I wish there was a way to switch characters in the middle of stage (L and R are going completely unused). I will admit that hitting the Zakenna with the finishing move while the theme plays is pretty good. Sprites and animation aren't half bad either.
A bit more moveset variety than just stading attack, running attack, and jumping attack and this would be easy to recommend to beat 'em up fans.
