Probably originally thought an all death tournament was cool before he realized that would mean by the end of the series the entire cast would be down to two characters and people who were big fans of a loser might just drop it.
Fully expect the survival rate to go up going into round 2(after 4000 years man gets shredded into ribbons). Kotaro will probably live at this rate. Choko will probably die to show how twisted Yagyu is. I likewise can't see Ittosai not confirming his kills, but the loser between Hanzo and Yasuke might live because both of them are fairly chill.

Nope, it has a simultaneous official release now which is this(another comikey style pay by chapter one), that's why we get a translation so fast now, we didn't even get shitty speedscans before, just the fan team a couple weeks after raws usually.
Unfortunately it's also shit. Even besides the scan/typesetting quality, the dialogue feels a lot more stilted, and they completely ignore things like Kotaro speaking in third person.

don't know how the artist does it, but even with him doing two series at the time the art is still phenomenal
but it was definitely more detailed when he did only tenkaichi. here's to hoping versus ends soon or something. maybe i should read that too finally
