Pretty much I think you just need a big final battle that involves all of the characters & then the emotional payoff with Frieren seeing Himmel again needs to nail the landing. Something like this maybe:
>Final arc is some kind of keikaku for the surviving demons to revive the demon king, or make some other kind of giga demon boss, at Ende/Aureole
>All of the first-class mages show up to help, giant battle starts
>Frieren + main party go to fight the DK while the rest fight the other demons, flash back to the Hero Party's fight against the DK
>when things start looking bad for the party, Aureole activates and Himmel, Heiter, and Flamme show up to help
>after the fight is won Fern and Frieren get to talk to Heiter and Himmel
>Frieren tells Himmel she realized always loved him and thanks him for everything he did for her, they kiss
>Himmel tells Frieren to have a wonderful life and that he will be waiting for her as long as it takes, the dead characters fade away
>Everybody goes home
>flash-forward epilogue with middle-aged Fern and Stark showing grandma Frieren helping with their kids and telling them about the adventures of Himmel the Hero
