In the mountains at night, Hairi witnesses Ao collecting glowing butterflies---the Shichieichou.
The next day, Hairi asks a typically sleepy Ao about the previous night's events. Ao tries to feign ignorance, but it is clear she is hiding something... She warns Hairi, "Don't go into the mountains at night anymore", as he tries to press further.
However, Hairi ignores Ao's words and ventures into the mountains at night. There, he finds the Shichieichou again and touches one, just as Ao did. Suddenly, a strange phenomenon strikes him---
