We all know the stereotype that western comics are hard to get into because of all the different versions/retcons/reboots written by different writers (whereas with manga/anime, you just start at chapter/episode 1), but what are some Japanese properties that have that exact same problem?

cgdct have almost exactly the same plot and key events with some stylistic differences and a few setting novelties so I'm gonna argue for them

Jojo, Lupin, anything with "parts". Obviously the solution is to still start at the first one, but people still want to skip.

The problems with non-Japanese comics are way more than that. Mediocre art, ugly character designs, lacking of genre diversity, mostly being read by children just to name a few.

ugliness is intentional though to some extent, the japs have hyperfocused on cute while the western approach was mostly towards humour

Non-Japanese comics have tons of genre diversity. It isn't all superhero stuff, that doesn't even make up half of western comics

How is this a problem, audience means absolutely nothing. Most of the shit /a/ discusses is aimed at children
