Nasu and Takeuchi only intended Fate to be standalone.

>Fate/stay night
>Fate/hollow ataraxia (sequel/spinoff thing)
>Fate/zero (prequel)

Later they made Extra & CCC was a swan song, and they planned to focus on Mahoyo and Tsukihime Remake.

After that, Sony wanted a mobile game, thus FGO.

Bondage suit sakura, dark sakura being reduced to wavy lines when that's never what it was, making the concept extremely lame, everything about it was awful. They took one of the most impactful things from the final route and made a lame and gay version of it, and spoiled anyone who wanted to one day read the rest at the same time.

>Iwakami: It started off with Aniplex working with Type-Moon to bring Fate to anime form with Fate/Zero. And not just the Fate series. In 2007, we did The Garden of Sinners movies. After we were done with Fate/Zero, we were talking with Takeshi Takeuchi of Type-Moon about a new way to develop Fate, and a smartphone game was one of the ideas that we came up with. So Type-Moon started working on Fate/Grand Order as one of the official numbered titles in the Fate series.

>Takeuchi: Many anime studios wanted to make Fate/Zero into an anime, but as far as actually doing that, I couldn't feel very excited about the idea. It was a story that came into being out of the love and respect that Urobuchi-san had for Fate/stay night, and was designed to deepen the enjoyment a reader could get out of Fate. Adapting it into an anime might mean stepping on that love, and I didn't want to make something that didn't capture the feeling of the original novels.

>Nasu: Many anime fans want there to be a lot of cute bishoujo characters in the work, and while they work hard to meet those needs, Iwakami, an important producer at Aniplex, wasn't satisfied just by doing that. I suggested that he tackle Fate/Zero, a dark and serious story full of raw emotion. He had the resolve, and that's how they ended up adapting Fate/Zero.

Nasu writes one chapter for that game like every two years

It can function without him as long as he comes back every few years and writes a chapter on it.
It would be retarded for Nasu to ever kill the game, its a golden goose that functions on its own that you can ignore for years at a time, as long as you have someone sorta watching it and making sure the content never gets too bad. Advertising that "Nasu came back for a chapter" is enough to get people lining back up again.
The thing Nasu never understood is he doesn't have to kill FGO, he just needs to be able to let it do its own thing and walk away a bit.

Nasu hasn't written anything good since LB6 in 2021. OC3 was a disaster with him putting 3 different universes together(Extra, Tsukihime and the Star Wars gag Servantverse)
LB6 Summer could be good but it was mostly Castoria, Oberon, Suzuka and Kuro; ignoring the other Fairy Knights.
Giving Sakurai more writing time would piss people off.

I know theyโ€™re waiting to do another preview screening at the event and I hate. They just need to fucking start releasing it weekly already, the last episode doesnโ€™t have enough meat on it to leave people hanging and speculating on it for over half a year.
It needs to just release weekly and nix the preview showings.

I wonder what Nasu is even doing. There weren't any news for the rest of Tsukihime for ages and FGO is basically dead and the LNs are written by others. What is he doing?

I wish they would already hurry up with the FSF adaption because I would love to see some of the other LNs animated too but doubt they have any chance of getting animated once FGO is is gone for good.
Makes me wonder what TM will do in the post-Fate era.

True, it's a disgrace and turnaround on studios doesn't explain why. Money fucking talks.
>Fate/Grand Order isn't getting any new seasons
LB6 absolutely deserved a two cour show.
>Fate/Stay Night's fate route never got a Ufotable remake
I keep thinking they're pushing it forward for a reason but it probably comes down to Fate route being too dull. Otherwise Deen wouldn't have condensed it with filler elements.
>Tsukihime isn't getting a remake
They can't even release Red Garden.
>Mahoutsukai no Yoru movie is in dev hell

Too much FGO revenue spoiled them and they have to "take care" of hanger-ons like Hikaru Sakurai.

No, he's just rich now. Wealth and comfort is the antithesis of creative urgency. He doesn't need to create anything now if he wants to eat and afford to keep living, so the desperate need to create is now gone from his life. He creates out of idleness, for self-satisfaction rather than remuneration.

Very few artists can remain un-poisoned by success. Nasu is not one of them but he's not alone in that, or even remotely unusual.

The structure's certainly a bit too loose for an episodic anime. Maybe they could keep the daytime stuff to a minimum, but it'd still feel weird compared to how straightforward FSN is
Maybe the Vita OP's just made me feel envious. Besides Carnival Phantasm and Prillya (to an extent), HA's received no love in terms of animated stuff

I figured it's a pretty easy formula. You just start of with 1-3 episodes of mostly fluff scenes, then pivot to a dense nighttime episode to catch the secondaries off guard. Then you continue doing a 80% fluff/20% serious over a few more episodes, then finish off on the meatiest night stuff. If you pick a good selection of fluff scenes, you can probably get a good 13 episode series.

All day every day! Probably until FGO stops getting major updates. Anon said that's going to happen this year, right?

Oda seems to have maintained a pretty steady work ethic despite being the greatest living manga author in terms of success. If anybody could afford to take it easy and rest on his laurels, it would be him, yet he's still toiling away on his manga as if he were a nobody.

He draws the pages (increasingly poorly) but he clearly doesn't give a shit anymore.
