The problem is that Jump's axebait sells more than most of the manga on the list. This is one of the popularity/public-vote awards so Shueisha manga being over represented shouldn't be a surprise.

Over the past years I've added more magazines to my portfolio. For instance a year ago I didn't read Harta or two years ago I didn't read Yuri Hime. And with other magazines there's no series with 5 or less volumes that I didn't at least partially read.
But despite all that the number of nominated titles I recognize has actually shrunk.

Shit anime can even lower a manga's sales since it leaves a bad impression of the story on the viewer. The weird thing is apparently the anime was received pretty well but it just didn't translate into book sales.
