After saving Flor, Takoha is brought face to face with the owner and creator of Souboutei, Sakamaki Deido, meanwhile, two new heroes show themselves inside Souboutei as unlikely saviours of the invasion team, Kaerikuro and Zanka.
Who are they and where do they come from? What awaits OUR NARRATOR Takoha now that he finds themselves in the lion's den? Is Deido an alien collaborator? Will the exhausted members of the invasion team manage to make it and get outside of the accursed mansion?

I love how the mysteries are slowly being resolved one by one in a satisfying way. It's all too common in other manga for chapters to leave off on cheap cliffhangers. I'm also glad character backstories are elaborated on as soon as their introduction. I'm used to backstories being held back for later on.

Not quite sure what you mean. There are kids, but not super-prodigy types like Masaru. One of them has superpowers and is probably easier to compare to beast-spear Ushio.
The narrative is also more focused than Karakuri Circus, to the point where it has a mantra. A larger main cast, but a much smaller supporting cast overall, and still plenty of flashbacks.

Masaru was a good kid but Fujita mismanaged him as a character by having tons of veeeeeeeeeery slow SoL arcs for him with a lot of his usual harem antics that ultimately go nowhere, and a very rushed finale.
Rokurou shares some traits with Masaru but he's handled a lot better, all of the chapters dedicated to his growth as a person don't destroy the pacing of the story and are always intertwined with something else rather than being little self contained pockets of narrative.
Souboutei in general is more focused compared to Karakuri, on one hand due to the setting being much more limited, on the other it was simply planned better as Fujita clearly had a much more definite long term plan for it and also kept it relatively short.

It's both, Deido violent, autistic rage at having the memories of his beloved sister violated by sentient alien paint is one of the highest points of the manga and believe you me, there's going to be other peak Deido moments in the future.
