I feel like at first, or if you never get the hang of it, it can suck big time. Pic related and the guys in this story don't seem to be happy about looking at ghosts or randomly summoning them.
But if you get the hang of it, you can do cool stuff like summon demons (The Village of Sirens), summon spirits (The Strange Hikizuri Siblings, Soichi), steal souls and put them into other objects/people (Sword of the Reanimator, "The Gift Bearer," and Soichi), and have an animal hive mind ("Beehive", "Bloodsucking Darkness").

I think because it has a rigid sort of formula it's incredibly easy to either fuck up by straying off too far so it's not done correctly or sticking so close so it's completely unoriginal.

Like a lot of Vaudeville routines could roughly map to the manzai formula, you could probably do "who's on first" as a boke and tsukkomi without too much change but you probably couldn't switch it up and do "two tens for a five" with the same guys.

Or god forbid bring in a third guy to play the straight-man for "7 x 13"
