yeah but I'm more talking about how the story is endlessly meandering. nobody's really getting closer to their goals and nothing really happens related to the overarching plot. they set up the story and now they're dragging it out indefinitely presumably intending to milk it for all it's worth, then they'll do a rushed unsatisfying ending when the popularity wears thin. I think this is a problem with a lot of manga but it's particularly noticeable in this one.

If you don't want to watch such shows, manga is where it's at. There are tons of obscure manga no one has ever heard of and yet have been scanlated to completion or at least have plenty enough chapters because the scannies were passionate enough about them. Not a shill for the scannies so I'm not going to drop any titles, but even a quick trip to aggregators will easily net you at least a couple of good reads for the weekend.
