it was alright. it felt like a cartoon you'd find on mtv. most of the humor didn't really mesh with me. it's nice that there are japanese people that admire american animation, but i prefer my anime to be anime.
It was one of the first anime I watched that was actually funny. Not "oh wow look how wacky it is" funny that a lot of anime uses, but legit laugh out loud funny, like old school South Park.

ultimate style over substance show, panty was funny, garterbelt more so with his flash back episode, stocking is just kind of there as a sweets autist.
it's a show you watch and enjoy quite well, then forget most of what happened after having not watched it after a couple of years; should be a parody for season 2 of the 50 foot tall women given the episode with them entering brief, feitsh bait or not.

No wonder you didn't like since the show is more a throwback to highly episodic Showa anime, and how episode directors used to have a large degree of freedom to play with formula.
I liked and actually watched it last week for the first time to prepare for season 2. It's going to be interesting to see what they're going to parody now and how much has changed since 2010.
I felt cheated, cucked even. I wanted to see panty and stocking being sexy in their high definition modes, but all of the raunchy stuff was drawn like dexter's lab.
is it funny that my ex girlfriend introduced me to this? she was a goonette especially to stocking. i watched this 4 years ago, bought a panty nendoroid (now missing)
i am happy it's getting a reboot, they deserved it.

I think she's a good actress, I just get tired of hearing her voice everywhere. She was part of the same rotation of 5-6 VA's used in early funi dubs in the 2000s. It gets grating after a while.

I remember the first time I heard Panty go "Oy, WAT DE FACK" in episode 2 was the moment I realized I might end up liking her more than Stocking by the end of the show.

I disagree, it had some good bits, but it also is a rare case where the english dub has a single scene which I prefer over original japanese. Though I admit the "running gag" of the "nougat" being the "snot" is kinda lame
I'm not really sold on the "not anime enough" take because American cartoons don't really look anything like super dynamic fights animated by the man himself fucking Yoshinari.
