I'm late about this, but I just found that Sailor Moon scouts were originally going to be barefooted even in their civilian outfits.

They too were going to be barefooted in their normal outfit. I wish there's one with their school uniform.

I’m almost at the end of the original series, and even though my overall impressions are incredibly positive, I feel like the quality of the show dropped a bit after Zoisite died and Mamoru got lobotomized.

In the SNES game Sailor Moon, there's a secret code unlocks a barefoot appearance for the player character. To activate it, on the screen where Luna is revealed by a spotlight, enter the following sequence: Down (x3), Right (x3), Up (x3), Left (x3), Up, Down, Right, Left. This will make the character appear barefoot during the stage opening sequence, but sadly not through out the gameplay which is a shame

It's curious how despite being the most famous shoujo manga, Sailor Moon is only the 4th best-selling shoujo (3- NANA, 2- Glass no Kamen, 1- Hana Yori Dango). And the number of copies sold isn't that impressive either, 46 million.
