Here my sincere opinion about the finale and the show as a whole:

1) The character writing and dialogue are what I enjoyed the most, but the pacing would be enough for me to drop it if I wasn’t very lenient with idol(-adjacent) shows. Also, the way they handled the drama felt like click bait at times (not sure if I like or hate that).

2) The first three episodes felt particularly weird, mostly because I had no idea what to expect, but after rewatching those yesterday, I enjoyed them more.

3) Yuina is best girl. She gave me so much appreciation for pink genkis I lacked before.

4) The way Mogutan plot line was handled wasn’t really satisfying, probably because our cast had no influence in the outcome, and I don’t think there was much of a lesson learned from that experience, other than "If I had spoke about that, it could have been solved earlier", as Kyouka says.

5) Kinda sad that Eiko’s issue was solved in the first half of the episode. Like, she seemed so determined to deny anything opposite to her beliefs, only to change her mind in just a couple minutes. Like, I don’t care that much about the Mogutan drama, because it’s not that important plotwise, but Eiko was there since episode one, and seemed to be the "final boss", only to have her issue being solved with a third song not so different from the ones before.

6) On the other hand, the entire middle part of the season was great. Every episode made me want to jump into the next one, and all had so many good moments I’ll remember even after I forget them, and overall, was a solid experience worth the shortcomings. Aesthetically was perfect from beginning to end, and made me smile in every episode while having enough tension to keep me wondering if there would be a happy end to any of their conflicts.

7) Oh, and the music. I guess it’s worth saying something about that, cuz it’s idolshit.

Most of the songs felt lacking to me, but good enough for their purpose. Like, Imagine if Rinko’s song went full punk or metal to really embrace the visuals.

Eiko’s song is the one more likely to gain a spot in my playlist, because of course the evil girl has the sound more akin to my taste, which is no surprise, but whatever. Let’s move on.

Matsuri day party was my favourite among the "happy ones". They wanted to make a energetic party-esque song, and they nailed it. Simple as.

Payapaya was some ridiculous shit, and I kinda hate it, but it was not meant to be great or important in any way, so there is that.

But speaking about ridiculous stuff, the objectively best among all of them is Choco’s birthday song.

This anime is so confusing to me. The main plot kinda sucked but it clearly had lots of work put into it with so many songs and dance choreographies that appear only in their respective episodes. It looks pretty too, aside from a couple bloopers in the last two episodes. There was clearly a decent amount of effort put into it, but not in places that matter the most. Ah well. The show embodies the seasonal anime theme well. I don't regret watching it but I doubt I'll have any strong feeling attached to it in a month or two

My main issue with the series is that it did not actually show off Maebashi much at all. For a tourism anime it did a pretty bad job at showing off the city in its name.

AOTS for me personally, liked how they made this show a little bit spicy with "problematic" themes because otherwise it surely would've been a snoozefest and remained in irrelevancy. Reminded me of anime in early 2010s with such twists. Considering I wasn't expecting much after the first episode, when I heard Azu say "I hate fatties" I instantly kneeled.
Characters are well-written, can't say they all has good chemistry but their banter felt lively and organic. Yuina-cholin's quotes of the week will forever be fondly remembered.
I was initially put off by art style of this show but came to like it. Seiyuus did a great job considering they are amateurs, especially Azu, I legit thought she was a pro. OP and ED are fire, but inserts are OK at best.
