Though the Rebellion movie explicitly states Homura's feelings towards Madoka to be "love", in an interview, Gen Urobuchi's response to the inquiry of whether Homura is in love with Madoka was "probably". When the inquirer asked why he decided to portray a homosexual love, Urobuchi answered that such a strong friendship had turned the nature of the relationship into a love-like one but without the sexual attraction, in their case [1]. Because Homura only shows attraction to women throughout the series and is never seen showing attraction to men, it’s surmised that she is a lesbian. Since he said their relationship don't have sexual attraction it could also mean that she's also asexual.

Sexual part is probably just covering up or something. Either that or to clarify that Homura's main goal is just getting to Madoka, she's not specifically thinking about raping her or anything. They said in another interview that the show was based off of erotic visual novels in part though. If Shaft ever sees fit, I don't see them holding back when making a scene where Homura gropes Madoka.

The best part is how realistic it is. Satoko is essentially groomed by Leader into being a lesbo (Leader is like dyke Epstein with a whole village full on girls in the past), she doesn't even understand the concept when others do it but still loves Konoha. Konoha also became infatuated with Satoko since Satoko is extremely useful to her and nice on top of it. She probably sprung from viewing her as a peer, to a daughter, to a wife. The only pure ones unironically are Marin and her sister. Marin spends all day watching Konoha shower and rubbing her little slit to it. Marin's sister has an incestuous love of her and fucked her on a couch so hard she instinctually gets into position.
