Has anyone ITT read The Stranger by Camus?
There's a scene where the MC kills a morrocan on the beach. I don't remember if I was just really tired when I read it or it was really hot that day, but the whole section was very evocative. I really felt the MC's mind getting progressively baked by the heat, starting off lucid and slowly getting slower and more muddled.
I remember thinking the book would work well as a mango or an anime movie. I was 16 though so maybe my judgement might not have been the best.
>>279892993 >does anyone remember the single most important symbol in the stranger
yes, and the plague is another very warm book of his although i dropped it halfway
also evangelion is low hanging heat wave fruit

keeping most settings dark and shaded in the heat was one of the best atmospheric decisions in the show. i hate when it's supposedly hot out and yet blinds are drawn and lights are on, as if they want the room to be as hot as possible, even the vn does this

Your quote isn't what I said! You shouldn't imagine things just to respond to.
Why did you drop The Plague? >>279893271 >>279893415
In the first episodes there's a lot of washed out white as hell outside scenes. Along with the incessant cicadas I thought I got the wrong show for a while.

i know it's not what you were saying ESL-sama, i was remarking that of course i remember one of the most important motifs in the book
anyway i dropped the plague because >nothing ever happens and i generally lost interest in the atmosphere and the daily routines of random algerians. camus' writing style worked for a while but eventually he becomes too dry for me

Japan has the same climate as where I live (Eastern USA). I still remember being shocked when I heard about anons not knowing what cicadas are.

my nipfriend moved to osaka to be with his family, he said the weather felt the same as here in north florida
what's wild is he goes 100 miles north and they get as much snow as buffalo ny

EZL (english as a zeroth language) king, usually quotes are supposed to at least paraphrase what someone actually said.
yes, meme arrows are a form of quotation in the right context
Anyway, you should (re)watch Shoujo Ramune. That has some great summer theming at times.
forgot the obvious answer of basically any haruhi arc besides the movie
>>279894809
i did >paraphrase you though, i talked about the symbolic importance of the sun
anyway it's been on my watchlist for a while, maybe if i get over my anime dryspell at the moment i'll watch it finally >>279894863
ive heard shikoku is their equivalent to the deep south. i will convert the island to country music and SEC football

Chinatsu is so erotic, then again every Yuru is. >>279895448
Good point! I'll be sure to keep some fresh water around while I'm licking Hinata.

When I get home, I'll post some screenshots from Lazarus. I know it's a meme anime, but there are some seriously atmospheric scenes of people in the ocean
Caustics! Very important!
This is probably my favorite anime soundtrack album cover Not that I can remember any other off the top of my head. I've even been trying to learn one of the songs on guitar.

Too far from water.
I do go to the nearby garden and just sit in the grass smoking and listening to music. Got a nice tan and everything. Except now my left eyelid is all red and swollen so I think it got burnt. Probably cause that skin is extra thin and vulnerable.
Moral of the story, if you go sunbathing you need to keep your eyes open and starring directly at the sun or else your eyelids will burn.

I don't like the beach, the sand is irritating
Being around girls in bikinis makes me feel self conscious
I put on like 10 pounds in the last 2 months
