But the male characters written by women tend to react as typical men would, unaffected or even aroused (the most realistic portrayal of men). Why is this the case?

I only see this in manga marketed towards older women. Juvenile romcoms, whether male-written or female-written, tend to give men the same over-the-top reactions, at least from what I can tell.
