So now that the show is over (at least for now), how would you rate it?

Probably a 6.5/10 for me. The highlights were mostly the solo travels. The travel destinations were mostly great. Some of them got me excited because I had visited them before. Some of the trivia were interesting. There were a few destinations and trivia that I didn't really care much for, especially the super Shinto stuff that I can't relate to. Animation and backgrounds were meh but I didn't find them particularly offending besides the robotic 3D crowd characters.

I have to say that the characters were definitely the weakest part of this show though. I couldn't connect with the them at all except for Chika's thoughts and dorkiness during her solo travels as well as Chika and Hassu's bonding in episode 10. And they couldn't compete with the JDs and JKs of the other two CGDCTs in the cuteness department. The main reason I could enjoy this show is because I treated it as a travel show and I love traveling in Japan, so I can see why some people couldn't get into it.

I'll still miss this show though, specifically the SoL trifecta of this season, and wouldn't mind another season, though unlikely.

This was honestly a great show. Despite clearly having a shoestring budget, they managed to tell an incredibly comfy story. There was a lot of fun travel trivia, the protagonists were all cute, and there was even some tasteful yuri to spice things up.
I don't think it'll get a sequel, manga like this is lucky to get animated at all in the modern anime climate. But it will definitely be a show that those few of us who watched it remember fondly, even as it falls into obscurity among normalfags.

the sleeper is quite memorable for a first experience, though getting tickets for the individual sleeping rooms (instead of those nobi nobi shared communal sleeping spaces) are very competitive (its almost as challenging as trying for a taylor swift ticket, especially for fridays/saturdays)
i personally prefer it over the shinkansen but ymmv

I thought some BGM pieces were good, but yeah, most of it were plain and didn't stand out. I had my qualms about the pacing too. Some spots and plot points felt like they lingered for too long, while some trips felt shallow and rushed due to the overnight "zatsu" aspect of the show. It was limited by the author's real life time constraints so I guess there was no point in complaining.

The groups in Hibimeshi and mono are too large for a crossover. A dozen characters journeying together, dining and taking baths would be more like a school excursion with little interaction between the groups.
