Even as far back as the 1980s, manga and anime featured a wide diversity of character artstyles, from cutesy to realistic to all sorts of stylized variations. Meanwhile, in Korea, these Korean manhwa/webtoons have been around for over a decade now, and they all look like the same cookiecutter garbage.
No distinct artstyles that make you say "Yep, this was definitely designed and/or drawn by [insert famous Japanese mangaka here]".
They all look the same.
There is zero individuality.
And I'm not the only one who is of this opinion. Pic related.
